About SM Woodworks
Our Story
From a very young age, Skyler had his mind set on working towards establishing a business of his own. Years on end have been dedicated to learning new skills, gaining experiences with technologies and machinery, all the while studying the art and craftsmanship of woodworking. It is such a joy and blessing to be able to celebrate the dream of SM Woodworks becoming a reality.
Fast forward to January 2025, Skyler and Christina's wedding! They decided to give their guests a handcrafted gift as a token of their appreciation. This walnut 5x7 engraving of Psalm 111 was the first product the couple designed and made together, and marks the official public launch of the business.
Our Values
At the very core of everything we do, we aim to honor and glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He came and lived a perfect life that we could never live, so that He would be the only acceptable sacrifice for our sins, so that through our faith in Jesus, we have life everlasting. The time on this side of eternity is but a vapor, and we want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those whom we encounter through SM Woodworks and the products developed.
Each and every person is uniquely made, and equipped with skills and experiences with great purpose. God had something very specific in mind for each of us, when He made us in His image. It brings joy to our hearts to use our lives and the work of our hands to serve Him in this way. Each collection has an anchor Bible verse that inspires the items in that product line. We have received significant inspiration from the Bible and enjoy finding creative ways of incorporating scripture into the products we make.
Our Dream
Looking ahead, our dream is to continue to add products to the SMWW collections, as well as expand custom work, with an emphasis on fine furniture. On the back of each custom product, a brass badge is placed, noting the year the piece was created. The hope is that the items collected over time become heirlooms that hold countless stories and memories that families cherish and pass down to the generations to come.
We know that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, and we are thrilled to see the Lord's plans for SM Woodworks unfold over the years to come and we are thankful to be on this adventure with you.
